Bench BENCH

Terms of Service

Last updated: 8 May 2026

1. Who we are

Bench is operated by Letsbenchit Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17188296), with its registered office at 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA, United Kingdom.

In these Terms, "Bench", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Letsbenchit Ltd. "You" and "your" refer to the person or business using the Bench service.

You can contact us at hello@letsbenchit.com.

2. What Bench is

Bench is a software platform for independent vehicle workshops and diagnostic technicians. It provides a structured fault-code database, suggested test plans, vehicle wiring references, and an AI-assisted feature called Smart Diagnose that interprets fault codes, measuring values, and photographs of scan-tool screens.

Bench is a reference and assistance tool. It is not a substitute for professional judgement, training, or manufacturer documentation. You are responsible for the diagnostic, repair, and coding decisions you make on the vehicles in your care.

3. Your account

To use Bench you need an account. You agree to provide accurate information when registering, to keep your password confidential, and to notify us promptly if you suspect your account has been accessed without your permission.

You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, including activity by anyone you permit to use it.

4. Trials

We offer a 14-day free trial of Bench. During the trial you can use the features included in the trial tier subject to any usage caps shown in the app (for example, a fixed number of Smart Diagnose runs).

At the end of the trial, your account will not be automatically charged. You may choose to subscribe to a paid plan to continue using the service.

5. Subscriptions, billing and payment

Paid plans are billed in advance, either monthly or annually depending on the plan you choose. Prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout, in pounds sterling, exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method for the recurring fees of your chosen plan until you cancel.

If a payment fails, we may retry the payment, suspend access to paid features, or downgrade your account to the trial tier.

6. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will keep access to your paid plan until that period ends, and you will not be charged again.

We do not offer refunds for partially used billing periods. This applies to monthly and annual plans alike.

Where you have a statutory right to cancel under UK consumer law (for example, where you are a consumer rather than a business), we will respect those rights regardless of this clause.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Bench for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service or another user's account.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from Bench in bulk for the purpose of building a competing product.
  • Resell or redistribute access to Bench to third parties without our written permission.
  • Upload content that infringes someone else's rights or that contains malware.

We may suspend or close accounts that breach this section, with or without notice depending on the severity of the breach.

8. Smart Diagnose and AI features

Smart Diagnose uses an AI model to interpret fault codes, measuring values, and images you submit. It produces ranked likely causes, suggested test steps, and structured commentary.

AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading. You must verify any Smart Diagnose output against manufacturer documentation, your own testing, and your professional judgement before acting on it. We do not warrant the accuracy of AI output, and we are not liable for diagnostic conclusions or repairs made on the basis of it.

Photographs you submit to Smart Diagnose are sent to our AI processor for analysis and are not retained by us after the response is returned. Please do not upload images containing customer-identifying information (such as VINs or registration plates) — crop or cover these before upload.

9. Coding, retrofits and other write-operations

Bench may include reference content for vehicle coding, retrofits, and other operations that modify a vehicle's electronic systems. These operations carry real risk, including the potential to disable systems, void warranties, fail safety inspections, or cause permanent damage to control modules.

Such content is provided as a reference for trained, qualified technicians. You are solely responsible for assessing whether a procedure is appropriate for the vehicle, the customer, and the legal jurisdiction, and for the consequences of carrying it out.

10. Our intellectual property

Bench, its database, software, content, and branding are owned by Letsbenchit Ltd or our licensors. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Bench for your own workshop's diagnostic work for as long as your subscription is active and you comply with these Terms.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any of our intellectual property to you.

11. Your content

You retain ownership of the photographs, fault codes, vehicle details, and other content you submit to Bench ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited licence to process Your Content for the purpose of providing the service to you (for example, sending images to Smart Diagnose for analysis).

We do not claim ownership of Your Content, and we do not use Your Content to train AI models.

12. Service availability

We aim to keep Bench available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, upgrades, or because of issues with third-party providers (hosting, payments, AI processing).

We are not liable for downtime or for losses caused by service unavailability, except where required by law.

13. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you under or in connection with these Terms is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for: indirect or consequential losses; loss of profits, revenue, or business; loss of data or goodwill; damage to vehicles, parts, or equipment caused by acting on Bench's output; or claims by third parties (including your customers) relating to your work.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Changes to the service and these Terms

We may change Bench's features, plans, prices, and these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the app, and the change will take effect from the date stated in the notice.

If you do not accept a change, your remedy is to stop using Bench and cancel your subscription. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the change.

15. Termination

You can stop using Bench and close your account at any time. We can suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, if your payment fails, or if continuing to provide the service to you would expose us to legal or reputational risk.

On closure, your right to use Bench ends. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (intellectual property, liability, governing law) will continue to apply.

16. Governing law

These Terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The English courts have exclusive jurisdiction to resolve any dispute, except that we may bring proceedings in the courts of any other country where you are based if appropriate.
